Ordinarily this requires informing everyone on your mailing list
of your
new email address. And you probably have to change your "profile"
on
a number of different web sites, too, in order to log in or make
purchases.
Here's a possible solution
Many colleges and universities offer alumni free permanent email
add-
resses from which messages are forwarded to the actual email provider.
Here's how it works
1-
Go to the alumni section of your alma mater's web site.
2-
Create your alma mater email account (e.g., you@almamater.edu) with
a forwarding address to your actual provider (e.g., you@aol.com).
3-
Give all your correspondents your new you@almamater.edu
address and use it as the return address in your email program.
4- From that point on:
Sender mails to you@almamater.edu
Alma mater forwards to you@aol.com
If you change your actual email address, there's no need to inform
the world. Just change the forwarding address at your alma mater!
